PLANNED NATIONWIDE PROTESTS: VIOLENCE OR DESTRUCTION WILL ONLY MOVE US BACKWARDS

The Ogun State PCRC is not unaware of the nationwide planned protest against the current hardship in the country, which is not peculiar to Nigeria alone.

While it is the inalienable right of citizens to embark on peaceful protests to drive home their demands, experiences of the past have  shown that some undesirable elements, political jobbers and disgruntled elements in the society often hijack such noble plans for their own selfish and unpatriotic desires.

It is, therefore, pertinent to call on our youths to be cautious and to show great restraints in getting involved   in actions that may set this country on fire and retard the steady but painful progress being made by the present government.
Years of decay and irresponsible governance of the past can not be corrected overnight and hence the need for us all to continue to endure for a brighter tomorrow for our country.
Copying happenings in other countries might be counter productive to our own local situation.

I am therefore calling on all *PCRC members in Ogun Stateto be alert to pass necessary information and intelligence to security agencies where lives and properties are likely to be endangered.

We should also see to the protection of critical security infrastructures in our domain to forestall our *ENDSARS* experience.

Once again, protests are constitutionally protected, but it must not infringe on the right of others to life, safety, and movement.

Let's be patriotic and circumvent in all our actions. No ambition is worth the life of any citizen.

PCRC!!! Service to the Nation and Humanity.

E-signed:
State Chairman
