FOR A BETTER REPOSITIONING, OGUN PCRC YOUTH STEERING COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED

Due to loss of focus & lack of strategic direction, the State pcrc youth committee has been dissolved with immediate effect.

And in order to avoid a vacuum, as well as rebrand & reposition it, a *Technical Steering Committee* is to be constituted to provide a more purposeful direction for the committee.

These decisions were arrived at, after a marathon Youth Committee last night, with some State Excos, coordinated by the State Chairman, Ven. (Dr) Samson Kunle Popoola (JP).

Before arriving at the decisions, a critical review of the performances and activities of the youths in the recent past was taken.

These activities were reviewed, which clearly showed that the leadership of the dissolved committee had been docile & inactive, leaving many things unattended to.

And in order to marshal a clearly defined, purposeful roadmap, a technical steering committee is to set up in due course.

The mandate given to this committee, which has *6 months duration* is to reposition the State Youth Committee, as well as resolve all internal wranglings, and prepare grounds for a very credible youth executive committee latest by January 2025.

The State Chairman stated that "I cannot allow the flame of youth activities in Ogun State go down", hence conscious steps must be taken immediately, to put it on the right track.

He enjoined the would be committee members to chart a new course for the youth committee, as highlighted at today's meeting.

The State Chairman assured them of his readiness and availability to guide them according to the dictates of PCRC.

All members of the Steering Committee are implored to put in their best, aimed at ensuring that the State Youth Committee does not lag behind, as well as lead, for others to follow.

The strategic meeting was attended by the State Admin Secretary, Comrade Sanmi Ogundele, the State PRO, Chief Babatunde Odeyemi, the State Treasurer, Ms. Debola Adeniji , the State Provost Marshal, Jide Fasola, and the Treasurer of the National Youth Committee, Comrade Rotimi Abatan, as well as the S.A. New Media/ICT, Mr. Adeyemi Macclean-T and selected members of PCRC youths in the State.
