DEPLOYING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) TO COMBAT INSECURITY & CYBER-CRIME IN OUR COMMUNITIES

In view of the upcoming annual Congress of the RCCG Worldwide, security experts & professionals were today assembled at the Redemption Camp premises, for the security chiefs to examine & discuss at a seminar/workshop, titled "Security in the 21st Century".

The seminar was facilitated by the Redeemed Division of PCRC, where topics such as "Cyber Security", "Community Security", "Challenges of security agencies" & "Forensic Crime scene investigation", were thoroughly analysed.Setting the programme rolling, was the Divisional Chairman, Dr. Samuel Bamisaye, where he appreciated all attendees & urged them to maximise the benefits of the seminar.

Among the discussants which include forensic and security experts, was the State PCRC Chairman, Ven. (Dr) Samson Kunle Popoola (JP). He spoke extensively on " Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance Cyber Security ". He expatiated on the origin, intricacies, benefits & how AI can be used to combat Cybercrime, urging everybody to embrace it.

He analysed how cybercrime, which involves telephone handsets, laptop computer and all computer devices, can be perpetrated and hacked through AI, & how it can also be used to mitigate crime.

The Redeemed Divisional Police Officer, (DPO), CSP Agunbiade Okokiolu, also spoke on "The Role of Vigilantes in Community Security". According to him, all heads of families in communities should have one defensive weapon or the other, such as a cutlass, catapult, knife, to defend himself in the event of attack by night marauders.

He added that community members should embrace self defence before the arrival of security agents, as according to him, this is the system the country is about to adopt.

Rounding off the seminar, was Pastor Bolarinwa Josiah, (Ph.D), who critically examined "Challenges of security agencies in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for security operations".

He charged governments at various levels to invest in comprehensive training/education of Police Officers, as it would greatly assist in the discharge of their duties.

The Owode/Egba Area Command Chairman, Pastor Joshua Olanrewaju applauded the organisers of the event, adding that the Division stands tall in the Area Command.

Outstanding & supportive partners and individuals were rewarded with awards & recognitions. Many community development associations, religious & community leaders attended the well packaged seminar.

On the State Chairman's entourage, were the Chairperson of Mowe Division, Princess Oni Orisan, the Deputy Chairman & the Chairman, Owode/Egba Area Command, Chief Mrs. Florence Fadipe (JP) & Pastor Joshua Olanrewaju, the State Women Coordinator, Alhaja Serifat Balogun , the State Welfare Secretary, Prince Solomon Alo & the State PRO, Chief Babatunde Odeyemi.

The State Chairman, after the seminar, used the opportunity to rub minds with concerned officers on the forthcoming Leadership Seminar/Training in Magboro (6th August, 2024) & Ogijo (8th August, 2024), urging interested members to register before close of the deadline, which is 31st July, 2024, to benefit from the training.

All members pledged to do all within their power to preach the MAGBOGIJO gospel in their various Divisions & Area Commands, to ensure a well-attended Seminar.
