MAGBOGIJO 2024 SUCCESSFULLY HELD, RESOURCE PERSONS COMMEND OGUN PCRC

This year's Ogun PCRC Leadership Seminar/Training commenced yesterday 6th August, 2024 with five very important lectures delivered. Starting from the registration point, all arrangements at  the venue of the training in Magboro, was perfect and super.

The seminar Hall at DE SWAM HOTEL & SUITES, Magboro , had been perfectly arranged to accommodate participants. Setting the ball rolling was the State Chairman, Ven. (Dr). Samson Kunle Popoola, who (JP)reiterated the theme of this year's leadership seminar, " Energizing PCRC members for better service delivery". 

According to him, all the papers expected to be delivered at Magboro are tailored towards the theme. He assured participants that Ogun PCRC, under his watch will continue to bring out second to none activities.

The first paper, titled "A SAFE AND CLEAN ENVIRONMENT AND ITS IMPACT ON COMMUNITY SECURITY", was delivered by the SSA to Ogun State Government on Environment, Hon. Farouk Akintunde. 

In his paper, he advised participants to take cognisance of clean environment in their communities, to ensure a healthy living. According to him, the Prince Dapo Abiodun led government in the state will continue to give priority to a clean & safe environment. Hon. Akintunde also unfolded waste to wealth , citing how waste packs can be turned to money.

The second paper was delivered by a Community leader per excellence, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab. His paper, titled " GALVANIZING COMMUNITY YOUTHS FOR SECURITY AND ENVIRONMENT", dwelt extensively on ways of harnessing youths potentials, tapped, to further lift the community up.

He analysed the advantages  and benefits in utilising the youths for the development of communities. He advised various community leaders to give the youths the sense of belonging, as well as what it takes to take our communities to their desired level.

Another very exciting paper, titled " BUILDING TRUST AND CONFIDENCE BETWEEN POLICE & PCRC MEMBERS". It was delivered by the DPO of Redeemed Division of the Nigeria Police, CSP Okiki Agunbiade. He did justice to the topic, eulogising PCRC's vision & support to the Police in the various strata of PCRC formations. He therefore charged PCRC leaders not to relent in their core mandates, adding that they are also expected to get rewards in return.

Not left out was the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola , ably represented by her 2I/C, ASP Folasade Oluwole. The PPRO's lecture was titled " LEVERAGING ICT IN GALVANIZING THE COMMUNITY FOR EFFECTIVE CRIME FIGHTING".

In the paper, emphasis was laid on the conscious efforts of the police at fighting crime digitally. According to her, the police strategy of today has gone beyond the usual manual formula, formerly adopted. She solicited the combined support of PCRC, media, community heads  and religious leaders , at providing absolute support to the Police.

The State PPRO, who is also the State Secretary of PCRC, lauded the brilliant programmes and activities of the S. K. P led PCRC in Ogun State, adding that his leadership acumen is unparalleled.

The day's programme was rounded off by a combined team of Wema Bank  financial analysts, where the paper delivered by them is titled "FINANCIAL INVESTMENT & DISCIPLINE DURING ECONOMIC DOWNTURN". Critical analysis of simple ways of doing legitimate businesses and making reasonable profits, particularly when the economy is at its lowest ebb. They educated participants on ways of investing in various Wema Bank financial services, such as POS business management.

Opportunities were given for question &; answers, while lunch was served to attendees. There was also an online coverage, watched by the business and working class members. 

The programme continues tomorrow, with indoor games and courtesy visits to the traditional rulers of Magboro. The entire team thereafter proceeds to Ogijo, preparatory to Thursday's (8th August) seminar/training. The event is slated for NIRVANA Hotel & Suites, Ogijo. 

This year's leadership seminar cum training has been adjudged one of the best and excellently packaged PCRC programnes.

Thanks to the excellent packaging knowledge of the State PCRC Chairman, Ven. (Dr) Samson Kunle Popoola (JP). This Leadership Seminar/Training was attended by almost three hundred members from all formations in Ogun State.
